Masseria Antoglia is a fortified masseria on a vast agricultural property whose origins date back to the early 14th century.

The history of the masseria begins with the construction of the Antoglietta fortress tower, built by the Nantoli family in the Middle Ages.

It was later renovated and used as a fortification, with the construction of a crenellated tower, by Prince Giovanni Antonio Orsini Del Balzo in the 15th century and protected by high court walls.

Ownership passed to Giacomo dell'Antoglietta, baron of Monteiasi, hence the name Antuglia.

The new wing of the tower, which had always been used as a dwelling, was built in the late 19th century.

The large shed, built in the 1700s, was used for storing straw and keeping hay and agricultural machinery.

In the first half of the 18th century, the oil mill was added to the original structure, which later became a dwelling, and the stables and neviera were added, while the farmers' houses were built in the early 19th century.
The castle/masseria was later renovated and used as a ducal palace. In 1822, a chapel was built, dedicated to the Holy Crucifix, which was elevated to the status of parish church and consecrated by the bishop of Oria in 1830.

Masseria Antoglia extends over a frontage of about 170 metres and consists of several buildings. In the central part stands the Ducal Castle with its crenellated tower, in which most of our rooms are located, together with the large shed and the millstone, which was used for crushing grapes until the early 1900s.

In total, the structure offers 9 rooms and suites tastefully furnished in keeping with the history and tradition of the masseria.

Elegant Superior of 42 sq m with characteristic star vaulting. The living room and lounge area are adjacent to the entrance, while the precious and antique wrought-iron bed inlaid with mother-of-pearl rests on the large wooden mezzanine, gathered in the splendid ‘star vaults’.

The brightness of the room and the warm and refined furnishings are enriched by the presence of the characteristic stone fireplace, now running on bioethanol.

The bathroom, which is extremely functional, is clad with Trani stone and the vault is ‘in Carparo stone’. The room is equipped and prepared to accommodate the handicapped.
