Masseria Antoglia is a fortified masseria on a vast agricultural property whose origins date back to the early 14th century.

The history of the masseria begins with the construction of the Antoglietta fortress tower, built by the Nantoli family in the Middle Ages.

It was later renovated and used as a fortification, with the construction of a crenellated tower, by Prince Giovanni Antonio Orsini Del Balzo in the 15th century and protected by high court walls.

Ownership passed to Giacomo dell'Antoglietta, baron of Monteiasi, hence the name Antuglia.

The new wing of the tower, which had always been used as a dwelling, was built in the late 19th century.

The large shed, built in the 1700s, was used for storing straw and keeping hay and agricultural machinery.

In the first half of the 18th century, the oil mill was added to the original structure, which later became a dwelling, and the stables and neviera were added, while the farmers' houses were built in the early 19th century.
The castle/masseria was later renovated and used as a ducal palace. In 1822, a chapel was built, dedicated to the Holy Crucifix, which was elevated to the status of parish church and consecrated by the bishop of Oria in 1830.

Masseria Antoglia extends over a frontage of about 170 metres and consists of several buildings. In the central part stands the Ducal Castle with its crenellated tower, in which most of our rooms are located, together with the large shed and the millstone, which was used for crushing grapes until the early 1900s.

In total, the facility offers 9 rooms and suites tastefully furnished in keeping with the history and tradition of the farm.

The Mandorlo Deluxe Room is a spacious and elegant 45-square-metre room on two levels whose living area, located adjacent to the entrance, houses a comfortable and refined sitting area with minibar and satellite TV.

On the mezzanine level there is an antique brass bed from the end of the 18th century, skilfully restored and comfortably equipped to guarantee unique moments of rest and the view of the marvellous ‘barrel vault’ that surrounds it. The bathroom is very spacious and clad in fine Trani stone with a king-size shower cubicle and antique brass fittings.
