Renovated country house, holiday home with 2 spacious bedrooms (43 and 36 m2), in nature, view of mountains & forests and on long cycle/hiking path Holiday home with 2 spacious bedrooms (36 and 43 m2) each with private bathroom & terrace and private entrance: no indoor connection. Large separate kitchen on the 1st floor, fully equipped. Terraces and patio with views of the woods & mountains. In the middle of the Dão wine region, in the countryside on 1 hectare of private land. Shops, amenities and restaurants are within 5 kilometres. Swimming pool for all guests (saltwater, 12 x 4 m) with sun terrace. The accommodation is open all year round and has mosquito nets and air conditioning (heating/cooling). Lugar do Pégo has vineyards and wineries ´around the corner´ and is adjacent to the ecopista - a 49 km cycle path without any motorised traffic. Mountain bikes can be rented on request in advance. Just 300 metres away is the small river Dinha, well audible with its waterfalls. Further along the Dinha and the river Dão there are river beaches where it is lovely to swim. Overlooking the mountains, surrounded by trees and tranquillity and 21 km from Viseu and 69 km from historic Coimbra, the accommodation offers all possibilities to be active but also to relax. The Caramulo mountain range is 20 minutes away by car and is suitable for hiking, paragliding, abseiling and has a renowned vintage car museum. The Serra de Estrela is an hour's drive away, as is the sea with several fantastic beaches. Furthermore, 15 car minutes away is a thermal spa with various beauty packages and also within 15 minutes a 27-hole golf course. Lugar do Pégo is also interesting gastronomically: a few kilometres away is a famous authentic Portuguese restaurant with Bib Gourmand (Très Pipos), just under 15 kilometres away is the Quinta de Cabriz, also famous for its wines, and just under 20 kilometres away is the beautiful Quinta (Mesa) de Lemos. Along the way along the ecopista, there are several places to eat and drink. The holiday home is a renovated detached part of a country house consisting of two buildings, and is decorated for comfort and quality. 2p room bg: 36 m2, toilet, bidet, washbasin, hidromassage shower, boxspring with 2p mattress or 2x 1p mattress of your choice, anti-allergenic, private terrace, flat-screen TV, wood-burning stove. Air conditioning. Free internet, free on-site parking. View of the mountains. 2-3 p room 1st floor: see 2 p room bg and additionally a sofa bed (1.40 x 1.90). Living kitchen on 1st floor: spacious kitchen (27 m2) with air conditioning. Wood cooker, oven, microwave, ceramic hob, dishwasher, espresso machine, hot water boiler, fridge and freezer, crockery, 2 dining tables with mountain views. Viseu can be reached by bike via the ecopista. Free Wi-Fi throughout the complex. Towels and bed linen are provided. Free parking is available on site. Worth knowing: a little further on the property is the main house, villa Lugar do Pego with its own entrances and terraces. Completely separate from the holiday home. Given the height differences on the quinta and the terraces, which are not all fenced, the holiday home may be less suitable for young children. The pool is not fenced and unguarded, we therefore strongly recommend that guests have a swimming certificate. Stay (including swimming and pool access) is at your own risk.

The holiday home has been renovated to contemporary standards and meet the highest standards of comfort and quality. Enjoy a lovely bed or the sofa bed, the hydromassage shower, flat-screen TV, the view of the mountains and the surrounding nature. There is also a separate bathroom, a wood-burning stove and a large closet. The separate very well-equipped kitchen/dining room (27 m2) (wood cooker, oven, microwave, ceramic hob, dishwasher, espresso machine, hot water boiler, fridge and freezer, crockery, 2 large dining tables) on the first floor with full mountain views is shared with possible tenants of the tower room from the main house. Of course, there is free wifi and private parking. Air conditioning and mosquito nets. bedroom is very spacious with 43 and 36 m2.
Lugar do Pego is Biosphere certified - for a better climate and environment. With this, we as accommodation want to contribute with you as our guest to concrete sustainable but also social measures for, among other things, energy saving, water saving and social projects in the area.

There is also a main house on the property, separated from the holiday home by a large patio. This is also for rent. Each room has its own entrance and its own terrace(s).
Given the height differences on the quinta and the height of the terraces, which are not all fenced, the holiday home may be less suitable for young children.

Almost 49 kilometres of undisturbed cycling/walking or running track along a paved former railway line. Largely along the river Dão which not only gives beautiful views but also plenty of opportunity for swimming along the way. Banned to motorised traffic is the former railway line between the towns of Santa Comba Dão and Viseu, the ´Linha do Dão´ which served for almost a hundred years (25 November 1890 - 25 September 1988), now one of the longest ecopistas. Along the way, it is also good to stop at several old railway stations that serve as restaurants and cafes after renovation. The ecopista forms a perfect place to train for cycling, running, rollerblading or just to take a nice walk or bike ride and swim at a river beach. Lugar do Pégo is ideally located for these activities, it couldn't be closer to the ecopista!
