Omišalj is one of the oldest settlements on the island of Krk, Croatia. With its history dating back to prehistoric times, it has been continuously inhabited for over 3,000 years. The town was originally settled by the Illyrians, and later became an important Roman settlement, known as Fulfinum.

During the Middle Ages, Omišalj developed into a fortified town under the rule of the Frankopan family, one of the most influential noble families in Croatia. Over the centuries, it remained an important strategic and cultural center on Krk.

Today, the town preserves its medieval character, with narrow stone streets, historic churches, and spectacular views over the Kvarner Bay.

Omišalj is a charming coastal town located on the northwestern part of Krk Island, just 5 km from Rijeka Airport, making it one of the first stops for many visitors to the island.

The town sits on a hilltop, approximately 80 meters above sea level, offering breathtaking panoramic views.
