The Apuan Alps are located in the northwestern part of Tuscany, where also the Carrara marble area is located.
Already in Roman times they built temples and triumphal arches, and later Michelangelo used it for statues.
The area has many rare plants and species that are under protection in the Natural Park "Parco Regionale". It is a good walking and climbing area.
Here you will also find small villages in the beautiful natural area, such as the town of Barga, and the cave "Grotta del Vento"
