In the southern part of Croatia in the region of Dalmatia lies the peninsula Peljesac. It is Croatia's 2nd largest peninsula, it is 66 km long and 7 km wide. You come to the peninsula from mainland or by ferry.

Peljesac has 4 municipalities. The best known city is the seaside resort of Orebic. In the town of Ston, you can taste the best clams, known far beyond the borders of Croatia. In Ston lies Europe's longest dam and port of Trpanj. The main income of the peninsula is tourism, fishing, mussel catching and viticulture.

Through picturesque towns and valleys, you have a great view of the varied vegetation. Just 2.5 km northwest of Orebic lies the mountain Sveti Ilija, from which the view of the island of Korcula is outstanding.

Under strong wind conditions, the Peljesac Canal at Viganje is very suitable for surfing
